Regular checks (every 3-6 months):
□ Expiration dates – medications, antiseptics (replace expired) □ Packaging integrity – sealed wipes, sterile dressings □ Restock used items – don’t wait until next trip □ Reorganize – chaotic kit = useless in emergency
After each trip:
□ Inventory (what was used?) □ Clean (blood, dirt on exterior) □ Dry (moisture causes degradation) □ Replace disposables used
Storage:
- Cool, dry location
- Waterproof container (Ziplock, dry bag)
- Clearly labeled
- Accessible (not buried in pack)
