Wyrd operated not only at individual level but shaped entire families, tribes, bloodlines. A family could have collective wyrd—patterns of excellence or tragedy that repeated across generations. A tribe could face doom as complete entity, its destruction woven into time’s structure as surely as individual deaths.

This understanding created particular relationship to history and ancestry. What your ancestors did established patterns that continued into your life. The feuds they began would find resolution in your generation. The glory they won elevated all their descendants. The shame they earned stained the bloodline. You inherited not just property but wyrd itself, the shape of your family’s collective fate.

This made genealogy intensely important. Knowing your line meant knowing what patterns you carried, what dooms might be approaching, what victories or disasters your wyrd contained. The recitation of ancestors was not vanity but necessary information, a map of the threads that wove into your present existence.
