I. The Weapon as Sacred Object

In Slavic culture, weapons were never mere tools—they were living beings with spirits, names, and lineages.

The Belief:

  • Every blade forged = new spirit born
  • Weapon “remembers” its kills
  • Naming a weapon binds its loyalty to the owner
  • Dishonored weapon (dropped in battle, broken without honor) becomes cursed

The Covenant:

“Iron of the earth, shaped by fire, blessed by blood—you are my brother. I feed you with enemy lives. You feed me with victory. Together we are one.”

The Ritual Bonding: When a warrior received a new weapon:

  1. Smear blade with own blood (thumb prick)
  2. Sleep with weapon beside body (3 nights)
  3. Name it (usually related to its first kill or desired quality)

Never lend it (transfers loyalty)
